I wanted to write a poem
But the scenery made me wordless.
Carving through cobblestones
And long-hanging ivy,
Too afraid to touch the masterpiece—
The trauma took our voices.
Red brick and black doors,
I’m not good enough to make it sound pretty.
Every writer, average as the next.
What I see is too beautiful to be pinned down
By me
Under weak and rhymeless
Poetry.
