System.out.println(“You.”);

July 13, 2026

today in computer science

I had an assignment to

print a series of variables:

Your favorite friend

Your lucky number

Your favorite snack

The price of your favorite snack

String friend = “Solomon”;

int lucknum = 18;

String snack = “Sour Patch Kids”;

double price = 3.99;

Without a second

thought

I stored your name into the heap

My favorite friend???

System.out.println(friend);

Friend is the address in the stack that’ll recall your string of characters from the heap

‘S’ ‘o’ ‘l’ ‘o’ ‘m’ ‘o’ ‘n’

Your name, this experience we share together, you, requires far too much memory to be stored in the stack

—>the heap quite rarely overflows

You’re at the forefront of my mind always, friend, and I love you so much I could bring a machine to

consciousness

by describing what it means to love you

Loving you is the easiest thing I can do as a human, maybe a machine could do it too

On my altar when I get married, I know I will, even though I loosely believe in the concept (I’ll always fault in my beliefs)

I’ll recall your name from the heap

because the address will have never left my stack

Friend

My lover

My Solomon

System.out.println(“I love you”);

System.out.print(friend);

Lana absolutely adores the Final Destination movie series and still gets wary behind log trucks. Her poetry focuses on her relationship with nature, the body, and everything in between. She’s always down to go on a long walk, dance at a hardcore DJ set, or to lay down in silence.
