Icarus and Persephone
attend morning mass
on the equinox,
sitting in stained glass serenity, singing sacred words
that have no resonance
in their youthful throats.
His god, the father:
The Sun
and her guide, the mother: The Earth
have returned to
save their souls.
Vere sanctus!
Vere sanctus!
Vere sanctus!
