I am lost in the same childish fantasy when I hear a celebrity couple has broken up.
When two crushing camp counselors never see each other again come autumn.
When a relative of mine who has been married for years gets divorced.
When you think you’ll marry your first love before the world irrevocably separates you.
I am disappointed when people who think they’ve found “the one” are wrong.
I want every pair to be as in love as my parents are.
I want my parents to always love each other like they did when they were kids
I want everyone to have already found their soulmates and for soulmates to exist.
I want there to be no time wasted by brokenheartedness.
I want love to be infinite.
I am ridiculous and naive to be dreaming of this, I know.
It is only a trick I play on myself to believe I won’t need to look for much longer.
It is for the hope that the next “one” will be my last.
It is only to blindly assure myself that I will be found.
I am desperately hoping that everyone will be found.
