If it was the last time you could tell me you love me,
Would you do so in slow motion?
So that maybe then we could get a taste of love that lasts forever—
Would you stop time for me?
At least just when we’re together.
Then,
Would you hold me so much closer,
Do everything we’ve ever wanted to in no time at all?
Would you love me
Like time was yours?
And if it were,
Would you give it all to me?
See, if I were rich I’d buy all the time in the world to spend with you,
But we’re poor in time and money,
And profuse with love.
I wish I could spend all my time loving you
Without fearing that there may be a time where I won’t ever get to love you again.
