Emergency Go-Bag Checklist
– Water purification tablets
– First aid kit (what should be in a first aid kit? And where can I find one? Can I buy it pre-made?)
– Change of clothes
– Enough water for 3 days
– Enough food for 3 days (Is 3 days’ worth of this stuff enough? I know Clark said we should trust the city officials, and they say that everything will be back to normal soon but I’m not sure.)
– Backpack to put it all in because duh
– Gas? There aren’t any working gas stations for miles. We probably need gas. Is there even a way to pour gas into a car without a gas pump?)
– Figure out a way to pour gas into a car
– Fix car
– Deal with car because no one can fix it right now. Also, this is supposed to be a go-bag checklist and CARS DON’T FIT IN A GO BAG, ALISON!
End of the World Emergency Checklist
– Changed the name because I think I’ll need more than just a small bag to get through this
– A Lifestraw
– NOAA weather radio to keep track of all the natural disasters that’s been happening all over California
– A few packs of N95 masks
– LOTS of batteries (AA, AAA, A, those weird little circle ones, WHATEVER we might need)
– Personal documents? Are those even gonna matter? We should probably still take them, just in case
– Heat-proof, weather-proof, water-proof bag or case to carry documents in. Probably something theft-proof too with all the looting going on
– Money? (Again, do we need this? I guess it wouldn’t hurt to have it. Just in case. But we need it in cash. I don’t think credit cards are gonna be working anymore.)
– Figure out how much cash we should take. $300, $500, $1k, all our money???
– The dogs. I can’t forget about the dogs. Or the cat. I am NOT LEAVING without them. I have to get carriers for all of them, and Clark and I can take 2 pets each.
– Flashlight
– Heat blanket
– Ponchos
– Tent
– My insoles and my compression socks
– Clark’s inhaler (dear god, where are we even gonna find this stuff when he runs out? He NEEDS it. What if something happens to him? What if he can’t last long without it? What the hell am I gonna do? I need to call Clark.
Clark isn’t answering. I’ve called him like 3 times and he isn’t answering. His mom hasn’t even heard from him, and they talk every day. What the hell? What the HELL?? I’m going to try calling again.
He probably just let his phone die, or put it on silent or something, like he always does. I’ll kill him when he gets here. Because he IS going to GET HERE. Or else I’ll look for him and kill him where he’s standing. Which reminds me:
– Portable chargers (are there portable solar chargers? Or some that can be powered by batteries? Or hand cranks?)
– Chargers
– Backup generator? This should fit in the car and may be useful wherever we end up, should the electricity go down.
– A list of all our family and friends and their contact info. We’re too far away to go with any of them, but I want to be able to keep in touch with them and hopefully meet up soon.
– Hand sanitizer. LOTS of hand sanitizer.
– Poop bags
– Dog and cat food
– First aid guide, because how the hell am I gonna use a first aid kit IF I HAVE NO FIRST AID EXPERIENCE
– A tourniquet? Can I buy those? Will we need them? Does that come in a first aid kit?
– A pet first aid kit. Do those exist? I think they do.
– A pet first aid guide
– Comfortable shoes
– My glasses probably because I refuse to have to deal with contacts during the END OF THE WORLD
– Leashes and collars, and some of their toys to bring them comfort
The sirens are going off. The sirens are going off and Clark’s still not answering his phone and I had to come and hide in the laundry room with Wall-E, Edna, Toothless, and Gunther. And they’re all crying and whimpering and I’m all alone and WHERE THE HELL IS CLARK?! Why isn’t he back yet? It’s been over an hour since he said he was on his way home. Where is he?
Everything is going to be okay. Clark is going to get here. The pets and I will be okay. And the siren will soon pass like it always does. I don’t know what’s going on outside but it will pass. The sirens have been going off at least once a week and it’s always fine. We’ll be fine. We have time. Clark will get here. We’ll get whatever we can find around the house and then go to the store and buy everything else and then get the hell out of here. This is fine. It’ll pass. In the meantime, I need to finish this list for when he gets home.
– Maybe a book on therapy or mindful practices or stress relievers because this is too much for me
– My e-reader and its charger
– A pocket knife utilitiy tool thingy
– Actual tools? Maybe some screwdrivers, pliers, and a hammer? Some nails too?
– Weapons? We’re gonna need to orotect ourselves. A gun? A knife? Both? Probably a taser and pepper spray too. Doesn’t hurt to be prepared
– Snacks and food. I already listed food
– Sweaters and blankets to help keep us wamr in case it gets cold
– More wayer. More food.
Where is Clark? Where the hell is Clark? Where is he?? WHERE IS HE? I can’t do this. I need Clark. I need ny husband. I can’t do this without him. I don’t want to do this without gim. I dotn want to be alone. I need ClarkZ. Im so scared. The sirens are still going off and I cant comfort the dogs and fhe cat and im scared. I dont want to do this aloen. I want Clakr. I dotn want to die alo
