Dirt Cups

March 19, 2025

The worms aren’t the only things buried in the ground

A little boy digs in the dirt searching

For a memory for a sign for anything

Humans lie six feet under

Worms dig that deep too

But tonight is special

So maybe there will be something

To sweeten this bitter lot

He’s been thrown

Maybe the worms

Aren’t just at the bottom

Of his dirt cup
