Christmas Date Night

December 22, 2025

Autumn turned to her sister, Winter, and lovingly passed the torch to her, instantly freezing the flame.

We didn’t mind the seasons changing, or winter’s chilled air settling in our lungs as we stepped out of the car that December night.

With hands intertwined, we walked down the glowing driveway,

Through the spiral tunnel of Christmas lights adorning the archway above us and on the sidewalk, gesturing us to stay on the pathway.

Our stroll through the holiday show was just beginning.

The light show flowed through five acres of land, gleaming and sparkling with decorations.

There were areas providing a spotlight for each animatronic figure to sing and glow.

Despite the icy breeze and dark sky, the yard was as visible as the morning’s ray of sunlight!

Kids sang Christmas carols, strolling alongside their parents down the trail of gleaming snowflakes.

No one could be in ill spirits here.

Through the main footpath, Mickey and Minnie owned the sidelines.

Other Disney characters stood beside them, posing with glee as endless oceans of people passed by.

On the left, Pluto helped Santa on his sleigh, and on the right, Donald Duck had a sack of Christmas gifts over his shoulder.

There were beautiful scenes all around created with blow-up decorations,

Though the real mind-blowing creation was nestled in between the long path.

Small and medium sheds glowed from the exit of the walkway, calling the wandering eyes to experience their magic.

There, we saw seven different environments, all handcrafted by the owners of the light show.

The closest one was Santa’s workshop, and as you peered through the glass, you saw only the love that the holidays create.

There stood a Santa replica, checking a list of names while his crew of elves worked around him.

Beside Santa was a chalkboard of kids’ names, and children crowded around to see where their names rested.

With all the lights and Christmas songs playing throughout the space, it truly was a winter wonderland.

Passing through all the curated Christmas buildings instantly ignited cheer amongst the crowd.

Children climbed the playground beside “Little North Pole,”

While parents gathered around, enjoying their moment of peace with their loved ones.

A warm and delicious scent of chocolate caressed my nose, and I immediately followed excitedly.

Floating after the smell of hot chocolate, I was in a blissful haze

Until I was returned to reality by a sign that read, “Cash Only.”

We took a mental note for next year and laughed at the mishap.

Walking away from the commotion of groups around us, we found a small corner of quiet.

Frozen fingertips grazed the sides of necks and giggles echoed across the yard.

We sealed the romantic night with a Christmas kiss.
