Sometimes, after a long, tiring day,
all you want to do is snuggle up, relax, and sleep.
You want to run and hide away.
You feel like you’re drowning, and it’s getting deep.
Sometimes, all you need is a warm, hot cup of tea,
something soothing to sip as you daydream.
I imagine I am dipping my toes in the ice cold of the sea.
Breathing as I look out my window, letting off some steam.
Sometimes, it can feel slightly daunting,
and a little bit too much.
I shiver, the stresses of life, it’s haunting.
I need someone to help me, someone to clutch.
With the tea burning my throat,
my hands shaking, I pick up a pen, and I write.
The bad thoughts fled as I wrote:
maybe it will be worth it, and I will survive this fight.
