I still smell like chlorine
Two red jays are dancing
And I have a beaded friendship bracelet on my wrist
The cool breeze is canceling out the warm sun
My hair is a damp, tangled, wavy mess
I haven’t bothered to brush it
The sky is a mix of different colored greys
Some blue tinted, some orange, some white
But there are pockets of blue sky in between
The squeak of the swing is constant
As laughs go back and forth and back and forth
I can see the duck mightily flapping its wings
And hear the smaller birds chirping from the trees
All sorts of colors greet me
From the browns and the blues and the greens
To the pops of purple and pink
I can see the wasp, flying about
There is a slight pink to the sky now
As the last of the day’s warm glow starts to touch
The tops of houses
The tops of trees
The abundant green seems to go on for miles
Soon the twilight will take over
And cars’ headlights will turn on
And in the deepest part of the night
You’ll be able to hear the coyote’s song
And as a bug lands on my page
I sit back and watch it all unfold
I take a breath
What a beautiful sight to behold,
The world
