What She Sees in Me

April 10, 2026

Ice pierces through the surface of the water like glass does skin,

Bleeding rivers into motion

As blue blood dances amongst glaciers

On a crisp Montreal afternoon.

Her eyes warm me.

She points out geese,

A flock, soaring above the horizon of today’s sapphire sky,

Letting the wind guide their flight.

I call them lost,

She calls them free,

And they way she sees the world

Sets off a fire that

Sends goosebumps soaring all over me.

Love.

A thing I once called being lost

I now call being free,

And I remember how she said the glaciers

Glowed like diamonds.

God,

I can’t imagine the beauty she must see in me.
