You didn’t say a word, didn’t warn me,
Weren’t prompted by anything external.
You took my one in both of yours
And started massaging away
Every worry I’d ever held.
It was the kind of calm you feel
In your heart being wrapped
In cozy blankets: a relaxing
Feeling you haven’t known since
Childhood or before, the kind where you feel
So soft you could fall asleep or cry,
Clawing at the fuzz to hold
Onto it for as long as you can.
With every knead into my tender hands
I felt the word pressed into my skin:
Love. Love. Love.
