Bleeding Hearts

August 13, 2025

it’s not cold in the summer,

except for when I’m at your place,

in your arms,

like Samson’s chains,

your ribs dig into the small of my back,

we lay in silence on creaking floorboards,

thick air infiltrates the room,

passing above me,

as it always does,

I shiver in your arms,

heart shapes I draw into your skin,

I wish they’d cut and you’d bleed,

just like mine always bleed for you.
