Changing of the Seasons

December 11, 2024

Farewell to the ripe wicker-cherries mummified by October’s frost,

strung to a birdcage

like polaroid homecomings;

we stitch reminiscence

to skin-tattered last,

a ring away from scrapped,

paper-thin missed chances.

Farewell to the honey-seasons

crashing riptides of abandoned—

plunging us awake

toward midsummer escapades.
