The Dead and the Sculptor

October 2, 2024

They lay there in my arms,

Taking one final breath

Along with their warmth.

All there was left was cold corpse

Wrapped in my arms.

Trying to hold their face and smile again,

I toil in my workshop.

Each one fails to resemble their features,

But only one thing is the same–

The ice cold clay wrapped in my fingers.
